O God, you ordained and sanctified the holy state of matrimony for replenishing the earth, for mutual consolation, and as a type of the union of Christ and his Church. Give to (N. & N.) who will be married in your presence on (date), grace to both thankfully accept the blessings of marriage and to faithfully fulfill its duties. Accompany their union with your constant assistance, to enable them to live together in peace and love, in the careful discharge of all their duties to you and to each other.
Deliver (N. & N.) from all evil temper, from every heedless action, which may in any way embitter or weaken the tie by which you oh Lord will bind them together. Make them true and affectionate, eager to please, and ready to deny their individual will and inclination in all things. Let not the trials and crosses of this life induce them to murmur, nor let earthly prosperity cause them to forget you who are the author and giver of all blessings. Through their prayer and thankfulness, grant them all needed blessings in this life and shape them for eternal union with you.
